“Great achievements, long way to sustainability!”
In February 2005, the Vietnam Belgium Dairy Project started its mission to increase the profitability of dairy farming and to contribute to dairy development in general. The Project implemented a holistic approach towards the dairy farming business. First of all, it assisted farmers to produce more milk of higher quality. Secondly, the project collaborated with the processing industry to make sure that farmers received a fair price for their products. And thirdly, the project has addressed the future of sustainable dairy production in Vietnam by setting up the organisation Dairy Vietnam, which brings all dairy stakeholders around the table.
Now this 5-year project is coming to an end and we would like to share our experiences with you and discuss further improvement to the sector. Therefore we organize a national dissemination workshop on 26th November, 2009 in Hanoi. This important workshop will have 2 parts:
Part 1: Changing the dairy sector, impacting lives!
The Vietnam Belgium Dairy Project will present it’s main activities and results. Videos showing the project’s approaches as well as beneficiary comments will provide a deeper understanding. An interactive discussion should focus on the lessons learned.

Part 2: Innovate dairy farming
The Vietnam Belgium dairy project has spent many efforts to changing the dairy farming habits and techniques. It focused on changing the minds of farmers to become more business– oriented. Good dairy farmers invest in the right technologies to give their dairy queens what they need! The experiences of will be presented and discussed.
